Administrative Office Technology

This course is designed to assist with administrative and general office duties in a support capacity. This course explores and expands the core competencies in the areas of personal and professional development and promotes application of higher level office procedures tasks and communications skills through the use of technology.

Students will have the opportunity to take the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) industry certification exams.

Intro to Information Technology
(1) Credit

This course looks at information technology concepts, evolution of computers and the Internet, technology-related careers, basic web design, databases, PC support and networking, operating systems, and various software applications.

Students will have the opportunity to take the CIW Internet Business Associate industry certification exam. They will also have the opportunity to earn post-secondary credits.

Business Software Applications

This course develops proficiency in using advanced features of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.

Students will have the opportunity to take the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) industry certification exams. They will also have the opportunity to earn post-secondary credits.

Digital Media 1
(1) Credit

This course develops Web page design skills using basic HTML commands, Adobe Dreamweaver and Photoshop. The content includes HTML commands, Web navigation, and Web page design.

Students will have the opportunity to take the Dreamweaver Adobe Certified Associate (ACA) industry certification exam.

Digital Media 2 (Honors)
(1) Credit

This course is design to develop entry-level skills in digital publishing. The content includes digital publishing concepts and operations; layout, design, measurement, and decision- making activities.

Students will have the opportunity to take the Photoshop Adobe Certified Associate (ACA) industry certification exam.

Digital Video Production 1

(1) Credit

This course offers relevant technical knowledge and skills necessary to prepare students for initial employment as production assistant, audio/video equipment technician, video/TV camera operators, video editors, and broadcast technicians. The content includes overall production of digital video activities including: scripts, lighting, camera operation, electronic news gathering, field/studio production, and video editing. Students will have the opportunity to work in the field and in the EHS morning announcements program (Green Light).

Students will have the opportunity to take the Premier Pro Adobe Certified Associate (ACA) industry certification exam.

Digital Video Production 2

(1) Credit

This course continues the development of relevant skills necessary to prepare students as production assistant, audio/video equipment technician, video/TV camera operators, video editors, and broadcast technicians. The course also will allow students to further develop their broadcast journalism skills.

Students will have the opportunity to take the Apple Final Cut Pro industry certification exam
