The NJROTC mission is to instill in students in United States secondary educational institutions the values of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility and a sense of accomplishment. The NJROTC curriculum emphasizes citizenship and leadership development, with cadets having the opportunity to take on command positions and exercise leadership skills. Additionally, the curriculum highlights our maritime heritage, the significance of sea power, and naval topics such as the fundamentals of naval operations, seamanship, navigation and meteorology. Classroom instruction is augmented throughout the year by community service activities, parades, drill competition, color guard, field meets, visits to naval activities, marksmanship training, parades, civic functions, guest presentations, mentorship programs, and campus beautification.

The Trojan battalion is dedicated to developing young men and women into functioning citizens and grooming leaders and winners. Cadets have held positions as members of Student Government Association, the Athletic Trainers, the Green Machine Marching Band, captains on sports teams, and class leaders. If you want a challenge that rewards you with Honor, Courage, and Commitment, you may want to be a Trojan Cadet.
