  • At Evans High School Community Partnership School, the HUB is the school's central resource center where students, families, and community members can connect with services that support academic success, health, and family well-being. Rather than being a separate school or program, it's the coordinating center for the school's Community Partnership School model.

Evans High School was the first certified Community Partnership School in Florida. The model brings together several core partners to provide wraparound services directly at the school, including:

    • Orange County Public Schools
    • University of Central Florida
    • Children's Home Society of Florida
    • Orange Blossom Family Health

What services does the HUB provide?

The HUB connects families with resources such as:

    • Medical, dental, vision, and behavioral health services
    • Food assistance and basic needs support
    • Academic tutoring and mentoring
    • After-school, weekend, and summer enrichment programs
    • Parent education and family engagement activities
    • Job readiness, financial literacy, and connections to community resources
    • Volunteer opportunities and community events

    Who can use it?

    The HUB primarily serves:

    • Evans High School students
    • Their parents and guardians
    • In many cases, families living in the surrounding Pine Hills community through partner organizations and outreach efforts.

Why is it called a "community partnership" school?

The idea is that barriers outside the classroom—such as lack of healthcare, food insecurity, housing instability, or limited access to tutoring—can affect learning. By bringing these supports onto the school campus, the school becomes a community hub where students and families can access multiple services in one place. Since the model began at Evans, the school has reported improvements in graduation rates, attendance, and family engagement, and the approach has expanded to other schools in Florida.

Evans High School takes great pride in serving its community through yearly food drives that bring together students, staff, and community members in a powerful spirit of service. These events go beyond collecting food—they foster unity, compassion, and a shared commitment to supporting families in need. By working side by side, volunteers demonstrate the school’s dedication to making a meaningful difference, reinforcing the values of empathy, responsibility, and community engagement that define Evans High School.
