In Part Two of Evans High School's Culturally Responsive Instruction and Trauma Informed Teaching, Assistant Principal Deana Tolbert brought in seven students who gave their feedback to teachers as they developed lessons incorporating culturally responsive indicators to best serve and support our students. Students were able to collaborate with teachers regarding how culturally responsive teaching looks in action in regards to activity planning and relationship building.

Boys Soccer

The team is off to a great start with a record of 2-0 (+2 wins in the pre-season). The next three games will be tough as they face, Bishop Moore, West Orange and Dr. Phillips to close out the month of November, but Mr. Bornacelli and the team are up for the challenge. Girls Soccer lost a close one to Oak Ridge in the final seconds. They will be looking for their first win of the season as they face Apopka and West Orange after the Thanksgiving break.

Our Trojan cadets have been on the move serving the community . . .

Evans NJROTC cadets were on the move two weekends ago participating in a pair of special events. At the Veteran's Day Parade in downtown Orlando Evans marched 40 cadets strong displaying the National Colors and Trojan Pride. One of the highlights of the parade came in the staging of the event. The cadets had the pleasure of meeting, talking, and taking pictures with the very first Evans NJROTC Cadet Commanding Officer.

On Sunday, November 11th strong cadet leaders converged on Kit Land Nelson Park in Apopka in support of the mobile Vietnam Memorial Wall display. Our cadets were in charge of directing the parking cars for the hundreds of visitors that came to view the Wall and partake in the carnival festivities. They received many compliments on their professionalism, their politeness, and their sharp appearance.

Usually in this space we share our latest student attendance or tardy results. However, this happens to be the busiest travel period of the year so we are posting an important reminder message. We ask that all of our Evans families drive carefully and remember to buckle up when out on the roadways. Thank you.
