Maynard Evans High School Community Brief
Monday, August 1, 2022
Evans Community Member,

I have truly enjoyed serving at Evans as your principal over the last 5 years and I want to thank the dedicated staff, students, and community who have supported me during my time here. I have been afforded an opportunity to serve in a new capacity as the area superintendent of the southeast learning community.  While I will miss all of you, I am truly excited about this opportunity to serve many schools and communities.

It is with great joy that I announce that my replacement will be Ms. Kenya Nelson Warren. She has been my right hand at Evans HS and has served our community at Evans HS as a student, teacher, and assistant principal. You are in great hands and I’m so excited! Please join me in embracing our new principal and offering her your full support.

Finally, I want to spotlight the gains that have been made by our students as we were able to improve in proficiency and learning gains in all of the state-tested areas. Thank you to the EHS staff for their tireless work to achieve these results. We look forward to continuing that momentum.

Evans will forever be a place that demonstrates pride, determination and perseverance.

Rolando Bailey
Area Superintendent

2022-2023 School Calendar
Introducing Mrs. Nelson Warren
Meet Evans' New Principal!
Thank you for your commitment to making Evans High School, "A Place of High Achievement." Our focus is on Literacy, Rigor, and Relationships, and our school's pillars of Pride, Determination, and Perseverance continue to be on display by our students, staff and community.

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! It is with great pleasure that I write this letter to you as the new Principal of Maynard Evans High School. I am hopeful that you have enjoyed your summer and are looking forward to a fantastic school year. I would like to thank Mr. Bailey for his quality leadership and his genuine care for the students, faculty, and staff of Maynard Evans High School.

Our data from the 2021-22 school year continued improvement under the direction of Mr. Bailey, as evidenced by the Florida Department of Education school grading indicators. The above information is wonderful information about data, but it doesn’t quite tell everything that’s been going on over the summer. It has been a busy, busy summer here at Maynard Evans High School for the students who attended our summer learning programs, for teachers who supported the summer learning of students, the professional development opportunities attended by our teachers, daily registration of new students, building the schedules for over 2400 students, school-wide campus clean-up, and all of the intricate details that go into ensuring that our students, faculty and staff walk onto the best campus in Orange County Public Schools.

Now it is time to look forward to a wonderful new school year! Please join me for a Principal Meet and Greet on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, from 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm in the Evans High School Performing Arts Center.
